Delicious Links

I created a delicious login and added gardening links. I garden a lot back in Sabah. I've continued with that past time here in Athens. I really find enjoyment doing this making my yard look beautiful. I also beautify our CIC service desk by bringing fresh cut flowers from my garden.

OU Libraries Wiki

I went to the OU Libraries Wiki and added my blog to favorite blogs and a book and a movie.

Rollyo

I was looking for Searchrolls for gardening and I found one about California Wildflowers.

Image Generator

I used an image generator to create a magazine cover to promote tourism in my beloved home

Sabah, Malaysia. It would be the perfect place to spend your next vacation. You'll find sandy beaches, rainforest, jungle animals and the best food in the world. This is Visit Malaysia 2007 year. With the link to the Malaysia Tourism Board.

Mount Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia

Yes, that's Mount Kinabalu, the highest mountain in Southeast Asia. It's 13,455ft high. What about the name? Who gave the mountain its name? Some say that the early Chinese traders in the 13th century were so awestruck by it's majestic beauty that they called it "China Bahru" or "Kina Balu". It means New China in Malay. It's a tourist attraction these days. People from all over the world have trekked the mountain. It's a real challenge. It takes about 2 days to do that. I have climbed Mount Kinabalu twice. Once when I was 18 years old and again a few years later. It is an experience of a life time. I doubt if I will ever climb the mountain again. One has to be strong and fit.

Who's that little fellow?

He's our dog Lucky, a Long-haired Chihuahua. To him, I'm his Mom and he's my shadow. Whenever we have worship or sing a gospel song, he'll join in always ending up in a high howl. He never misses identifying the "Birthday Song" no matter how soft it may be sung. He enjoys riding and traveling and sitting or lying on his Mama's lap . He loves icecream so once in a while he gets some. Most of all he is a joy and we love him so!

Breakfast with friends at Blueberry Hill Restaurant

Here we are at the Blueberry Hill Restaurant in Niles, Michigan (not too far from South Bend, Indiana). We had a very pleasant visit with our friends the Kijais and the Gabans. Infact we had been friends for a very long time. Dr. Jimmy Kijai and his wife Lucia Kijai are employees of Andrews University. Dr. Kijai is a professor in the Education Department. Dr. Charles Gaban and his wife Connie Gaban are enjoying their retirement. They were administrators and teachers at Sabah Adventist Secondary School where I went to school in Sabah, Malaysia. They moved to the United States in the late 1970's. It is wonderful to have great friends.

Nicole enjoying a cool evening at Lake Michigan

We took a journey/a mini-vacation up to Michigan recently. We visited our Alma Mater Andrews University, a private school of higher learning located in Berrien Springs. Infact thats where Jim and I met. Many people thought we met when he was in the army not so. While there we had the opportunity to visit Lake Michigan in the city of St Joseph which is 12 miles away from Andrews U. My family and I enjoyed Monday evening floricking on the shore of Lake Michigan. With such a hot summer, the beach was crowded with parents and young children and young people as well. There is also an AmTrack Train Station in St. Joseph so one can just buy a ticket and hop on the train to Downtown Chicago. You won't have to worry about driving a hundred miles. You can shop there the whole day or go sight-seeing and return to St. Joseph on the last train in the evening. We almost did that but with a busy day ahead of us we gave up the idea. We might do that the next time we are in th vicinity.
